Somatic counseling, meditation, & integration

Welcome to an evolutionary journey...

Hi, I’m Dana. My work aims to help people to become more deeply themselves by returning to a sense of Belonging - to ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

I believe that the process of accessing old memories and beliefs and then transforming them with loving awareness can be a fast and lasting path to healing. In particular, I love to support people in the preparation and integration of the deep reorganization that happens in meditation or plant medicine ceremony. Integration is how we make REAL what we experience in expanded states — how we anchor it into the fabric of our lives and relationships.

My work is rooted in eco-psychology, somatic psychology (primarily the Hakomi method and trauma healing), and indigenous ways of earth-based healing. It is an honor to walk alongside people on their path.

How I Work

Sessions with me are a joint adventure within a field of gentle and loving awareness. It is an exploration of what is already true inside. I’m by your side as guide, shining a flashlight on places you are drawn to explore. Together we listen to the guidance of your inner healer, who already knows the way home.

Sessions are based on the Hakomi method of somatic psychotherapy and its core values:

  • nonviolence

  • organicity

  • mind-body holism

  • unity

  • mindfulness

In mindfulness, we look within to uncover what core beliefs may have formed from your earlier life experiences, see how those beliefs are shaping your world, and then transform them into something more live-giving.

My practice is based on my conviction that we are connected to each other through our essential goodness, and that that connection is just what we need. My aim is to meet you with my open heart and presence, sharing this complex, magnificent, and challenging human experience.

What is Eco-Psychology?

Eco-psychology acknowledges that as humans, we are inextricably connected to the ecologies we inhabit: our ecosystems, land, watersheds, and communities. Nature helps us heal, and to be fully healthy, we need to help nature heal as well.

Eco-psychology sees that we can be resourced and refueled by our inherent belonging to the Earth, to each other, and to ourselves. This belonging can be forgotten but it can never be destroyed.

“We are our world knowing itself. We can relinquish our separateness. We can come home again – and participate in our world in a richer, more responsible and poignantly beautiful way than before, in our infancy.”

-Joanna Macy, Buddhist teacher & founder of Deep Ecology
